The End of a Chapter ✎

This week is finally over! How stressful it was! I had two research papers due for my history classes, and I was freaking out over them! I'm glad they're handed in, and hopefully I get a good grade on both of them! Thank god Starbucks was having its annual Frappuccino Happy Hour... it was how I was staying calm!

Now, finals week is here. I can't believe it's already the end of the semester. This semester went quickly, but I'm glad it's over. This was my hardest semester thus far at Caldwell, and I really hope this will stay my hardest! It's hard to believe that I am halfway finished with college... it only seems like yesterday I was still in high school...

As part of this being my last blog entry, I would like to say I had fun making this blog. I have a tumblr which I use as a blog, and I had a xanga in middle school, so this wasn't anything new for me!

This summer is going to kick off with me going to the Caldwell graduation... so sad! The rest of the summer, I'm planning to work my three jobs and take an online course. I'm trying to work on visiting my best friend Joanna in Boston sometime this summer (but it may not work since my parents and I work to where a two-day trip is pointless, wah!). But, my aunt and uncle from Texas are coming up in July! I'm also turning 20 on July 17, so I'll have to think of something to do around then. Other than that, I'll be relaxing, catching up with friends, and getting into the right mindset for next semester... a fresh start!

Hope everyone has a great, relaxing, and fun summer! See you all in August!

A Beautiful Weekend ☀

Oh, what a crazy, but gorgeous weather weekend! This weekend was fun, but tiring. I started not feeling well on Tuesday night, which developed into a sinus infection on Thursday... not fun! Unfortunately I wasn't able to go out with my friends on Thursday night, but I made it up at the formal on Friday night! I never thought I was going to say this, but I had such a great time... I was so close to not going (I originally didn't want to go in the first place, but let's just say I have some lovely friends who used every type of convincing to get me to come... but then I wasn't sure how I was feeling), but I'm so glad I was able to go. It was a nice stress reliever.

I also was treated to an amazing super early birthday present.... TO SEE ONE DIRECTION ON JULY 2, 2013! My birthday is July 17, and my parents said they would pay for me and three of my friends' tickets. I'm SUPER EXCITED!

Caldwellfest was on Saturday, and it was such a fun day outdoors! Some music groups performed, and even though we were working at the Autism Awareness and CCEA table, we still had fun by laying out on the grass and relaxing, walking around to the different tables, getting henna tattoos, and eating food.

On Sunday, we had our Senior Send-Off for DPhiE, where it pretty much hit me that graduation is coming up. It's hard to know that we are having so many great girls graduating and leaving us... I'm going to miss them so much! My big, Kendra, is one of the girls graduating and it makes me so sad. I've only known her since October and she has been such a great person that has come into my life. I am so lucky to have her as my big.

Now onto this week.... which is FINALLY the last week of classes! I have so much stuff due this week and it's getting very stressful... I really hope I will be able to hand everything in on time!

I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy ♪

The second graders during their dress rehearsal

Yesterday and today my second grade class I observe put on their "Proud to Be an American" play which was a huge hit!

This play explained the important people, places, and symbols of our country. They've worked very hard and I am so proud of them--they did an awesome job memorizing their lines and singing! Two kids in my class even had a solo for "Yankee Doodle"!

The kids wore white shirts with painted blue and red stars. When they came up to the front to deliver lines, some wore hats to represent the person they were (one person wore a cowboy hat to represent Teddy Roosevelt, another wore a top hat to represent Abraham Lincoln).

On Monday, they had a dress rehearsal, and on Tuesday they performed for the school in the morning, and the parents in the afternoon. The kids were so excited that I came back, however, they didn't understand I came only to watch their show and not to come into the classroom! When they were asking when I would come back, it made me sad because I would not be coming back after today. But I will definitely see them around town!

Take a Risk with the People you Love ☠

Frost Valley in Claryville, New York

I had such a great weekend with my sisters! We were able to get away from New Jersey for the weekend (which was so needed!) and stayed up in Frost Valley, New York. While a lot of us were concerned about the living conditions (leaking walls and ceilings from the torrential rain on Saturday night... that's always fun....) we were able to stick it out and make the best of our weekend.

As soon as we settled in, we went on a hike to see a gorgeous waterfall. The views during the hike was so beautiful. When we got to the waterfall, some sisters and I climbed to the bottom of the waterfall. It was quite a hike, but so worth it! (PS: don't wear converses on hikes... they aren't the best to walk in...)

After our hike, we had a campfire outside one of our cabins and made some s'mores. It was our only nice night of the weekend, and it was very relaxing.

Ready to zip-line.
On Saturday, we did some outdoor group activities in the morning and took some risks in the afternoon. We were given the opportunity to zip-line, jump off a tree to try and grab a ball (or a "leap of faith"), and walk across a log suspended very high in the air. We were all supporting each other, and a few conquered their fears, which I'm so proud of!

Us crazies who went out in the rain.
That night, we stayed indoors for it was pouring outside. Some of us crazy sisters decided to run and dance outside in the pouring rain. After we were all cleaned up, we sat around and pigged out on junk food while playing "Whose Line is it Anyway" where we put on funny skits for everyone. A few of us also stayed up pretty late and were being ridiculously crazy by giving ourselves new hairdos, hehe.

From this weekend, I got to know a lot of my sisters more, especially our newly-initiated Beta class. It was such a great weekend to have before all the stress kicks in for the last stretch of the spring semester. I had such a great time, being away from New Jersey and being with some of the people who matter most. I'm so glad to call these girls my sisters and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

Our failed attempt at a pyramid... hahaha.

Rewards! ♕

As a reward for successfully giving chocolate up for Lent, I decided to reward myself. I bought myself an album from one of my favorite Korean pop groups, that was just released only a month ago. It came in the mail today and I'm so happy! I've been pretty much listening to it all night!

I also have some new DPhiE shirts coming in the mail too, as an Easter present. I'm so excited to finally get them (hopefully this weekend!) These rewards have pretty much been the only good thing about this week... overall, it's been a pretty bad week.

I look forward for the weekend, however! I'll be spending the weekend with my sisters up in Frost Valley, New York, and I'm so excited! As sad as I am to miss the Autism 5K Run on Saturday, I'm glad at least I'll be able to keep busy with my sisters and hopefully de-stress a bit.
